Why is the new unit better than the old unit?

The new Atmosphere Sky™ unit has been redesigned inside and out. Along with the new beautiful design, function has also been improved. Removal and replacement of the front panel and filters has been improved. It still maintains 99.99% single-pass particle reduction, which is better than HEPA (99.97%), down to .0024 microns. The Atmosphere Sky™ unit will remove or reduce more than 300 contaminants. The new motor and volute system have increased airflow by 20%, allowing the unit to cover 465 square feet.

What does the new digital design and connected experience allow me to do?

With a smartphone, you can remotely control the device by turning it on or off, set the fan speed, monitor filter life and change mode. Updates to the app now allow you to monitor indoor and outdoor air quality, check your filter life, track 7-day air quality history and register your unit in one-click with the Atmosphere™ Connect app.

Where is the remote control?

There is no remote control. Your smartphone is the remote. Also, one smartphone can control multiple units.

How do I know when it’s time to replace the filters?

Each filter has a corresponding filter light on the left side of the touch screen display. Whenever a filter light turns amber, it’s time to order a new filter. For the pre-filter, which doesn’t need to be replaced, it’s time to clean it by vacuuming off the contents. Also, the Atmosphere Connect™ mobile app tracks filter life as a percentage.

Will customers be able to order the pre-filter?

The washable pre-filter is not available for ordering on Amway.com. If the pre-filter ever needs to be replaced due to damage, please call Amway customer service at 800-253-6500 to speak with an Atmosphere Sky™ product specialist.

Atmosphere Mini

What motor does Mini use, is it different from Sky?

Mini’s motor is a brushless 24 volt DC (direct current) motor, meaning that it requires a power adapter between the wall and the motor.

Sky’s motor is an EC (Electronically Commutated) motor. It is very similar to a high voltage DC motor with additional electronics to handle direct connection to the worldwide AC power from 100 to 240 volts AC. 

Mini’s motor is installed as a standalone motor. It mounts to the rear shell of the unit and uses plastics from the back side of the filter housing to create a scroll housing to direct the airflow.

Why is the order of three filters in 3in1 filter in Mini (Pre-carbon-HEPA) different from SKY (Pre-HEPA-carbon)?

For the Atmosphere Mini 3in1 filter we switched the order of the carbon and HEPA filters compared to the Sky system filters. Cleaning performance and filter life do not change with the switch – filters in either order are still providing the excellent room cleaning performance and long filter life that you expect from our Atmosphere products. For Mini we found with switching the order of the HEPA and odor filters that we got improved air flow and sound which was critical to keep the Mini unit as small and quiet as possible.
